I am a visual artist. My practice is centred on drawing, and includes installation, photography, digital works, printmaking and painting. The work references human geography, industrial and natural environments as source material to frame questions of memory, identity and origin.
I make discoveries through walking, cycling and loitering. I keep an eye on the obvious and what’s happening around the edges. I document through photography, written lists and notes, and visceral memory (feelings aroused by place and time are critical).
Monotony, repetition and rhythm are recurring elements, bringing a sense of ritual to performative and graphic works, one-offs and series. Formal geometries and motifs emerge, with examples appearing in landwork, sculpture and digital drawing.
Printmaking opportunities arise for me from projects that begins in other, sometimes ephemeral, forms such as land work or temporary sculptures. The print remains as a tangible record of such work.
I have been active in this field since 2021, completing my MA in Fine Art at Arts University Bournemouth in 2023. I work from a studio in North Dorset.
